Food Assist originally started under it's parental body "Faithworks Ministries". Established in January 2012, with the desire to assist the community by helping people with their basic but essential needs, it has established a strong track record with food relief. It’s humble beginnings consisted of a small group of people purchasing food from their own funds and then giving away the food to people in need.
Over the years it has grown and now operates food relief services across many locations, servicing over 1000 people weekly.
Under it's parental body it is registered as a not-for-profit charity with the Australian government and with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
Food assist has become a major food relief and community services organisation. It is always increasing it’s service boundaries and programs to be able to effectively assist more people in need.
Food Assist looks at each individual need and will provide short-term or long-term food relief as needed.
Each person served is treated with dignity and respect with an aim to assist them with their problems and not just provide relief.
